Job Overview Summary
The Social Media Manager is responsible for supporting and scaling our social media efforts. The successful candidate will manage and execute social media strategies, create compelling content, and analyze performance metrics to optimize campaigns. This role will play a crucial part in enhancing brand awareness, engaging our audience, and driving traffic to increase conversions and build sales pipeline.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day management of Advarra’s social channels, paid social media campaigns, and the employee advocacy platform in alignment with marketing goals and brand voice.
Plan, create, and schedule engaging and visually appealing content (text, images, videos) across various social media channels.
Create social campaign plans and content to optimize marketing assets and translate complex tech/service offerings into accessible, value-driven posts.
Collaborate with the content writer and creative team to develop high-quality assets that resonate with our target audience.
Collaborate with the content strategy team to align social campaigns, messaging, and cadence to the content calendar.
Work with product, events, human resources, and customer service teams to review and approve post content in support of cross-functional efforts.
Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions promptly to foster positive interactions, flag and escalate any adverse event mentions, misinformation, or reputational risks.
Collaborate with select Advarra executives and and subject matter experts to optimize their social profiles, content, and public presence.
Build and nurture relationships with our online community, including influencers, brand advocates, thought leaders, KOLs (key opinion leaders), and professional / industry networks.
Track, analyze, and report on key performance metrics such as engagement rate, follower growth, website traffic, lead conversions (or pipeline contribution), audience segmentation, share of voice, attribution models, and sentiment / share of voice.
Use analytics tools (native platform analytics, social listening tools, HubSpot, GA4, other enterprise platforms) to measure ROI, derive insights, and refine strategies.
Run A/B tests and experiments to optimize messaging, visuals, posting times, formats, audience segments, and creative direction.
Stay updated on social media trends, tools, algorithm changes, societal / industry conversations, and compliance best practices to ensure our platforms remain innovative, relevant, and safe.
Develop, document, and maintain social media governance policies, content guidelines, escalation protocols, and best practices (e.g. brand voice, disclaimer usage, crisis protocols).
Occasional travel (3-4 times / year) for in-person conferences or team-building meetings.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Life Sciences, or related field
5+ years proven experience managing social media platforms for a technology, services, or regulated organization (preferably with B2B / tech / healthcare / life sciences exposure).
Demonstrated experience in end-to-end campaign management, including strategic planning, execution, optimization, and performance reporting.
Deep understanding of key social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, etc.), including algorithm dynamics, features, audience behaviors, and evolving trends.
Proficiency in social media management, listening, scheduling, and analytics tools (e.g. Hootsuite, Sprout, Sprinklr, etc.).
Experience with paid social media campaigns and budget management.
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft content that drives engagement.
Strong project management skills: ability to juggle multiple campaigns, stakeholders, calendars, and deadlines.
Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across distributed teams.
Prior experience or domain knowledge in clinical research, life sciences, healthcare, medical technology, biotech, or regulated industries.
Working knowledge of SEO principles and keyword strategy, and their application to social media content optimization.
Proficiency with design / multimedia tools (Canva, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, basic video editing) and a strong aesthetic sense.
Ability to absorb domain / regulatory guidance, understand scientific / clinical information, and execute feedback loops.
Physical and Mental Requirements

The base salary range for this role is $75,000 – $126,000. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience and may vary from the amounts listed above. This position may also be eligible for a variable bonus in addition to base salary as well as health coverage, paid holidays, and other benefits.
