## About the Job
As a member of the Global Communications & Public Affairs team, you will work cross‑functionally to communicate with journalists and thought leaders; develop communications materials and campaigns; engage in face‑to‑face meetings with commentators and opinion formers; and create print and web‑based materials supporting these campaigns. You will need to understand complex issues and explain them clearly through blog posts, FAQs, video scripts, and more.

As a key member of the YouTube Reputation & Responsibility team, you will help shape the narrative around one of the world’s most influential platforms. You will build trust‑based relationships with media, digital commentators, and industry thought leaders. Your mission is to advocate for YouTube’s story, navigating the evolving landscape of global regulation and platform responsibility. You will focus on proactive campaigns and rapid‑response strategies, using briefings, blog posts, social content, and video to communicate effectively.

Google’s communications mission is to inform and educate users, advertisers, partners, opinion leaders, and employees about the benefits of Google’s products, company culture, and approach to major public policy issues. Success requires creativity, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines. You should enjoy pitching to journalists and producing internal communications and events. Things move quickly at Google, so being a collaborative, risk‑tolerant team player is essential.

The US base salary range for this full‑time position is **$171,000–$248,000 + bonus + equity + benefits**. Salary ranges depend on role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and factors such as skills, experience, and education. Your recruiter can provide the specific range for your preferred location.

## Responsibilities
– **Shape coverage** around regulatory files and issues impacting YouTube through proactive campaigns and rapid‑response communications. Coordinate global communications responses to regulatory issues across regions.
– **Build relationships** with key data‑center‑focused press and third‑party stakeholders to advance YouTube’s reputational efforts and support legislative priorities.
– **Partner with cross‑functional teams** in public policy, legal, and marketing to manage press coverage, events, public testimony, and reporter briefings.
– **Collaborate across GCPA** on core files that impact both YouTube and Google.
