DCI Donor Services, Inc. (DCIDS) is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic team member to join us to save lives! Our mission at DCIDS is to save lives through organ and tissue donation, and we want professionals on our team that will embrace this important work!
DCI Donor Services is seeking a Communications Director to join our team! This position will manage all aspects of marketing and media relationships to grow the donor registry and promote the need for registered donors. Previous marketing and media experience in the healthcare field is preferred. Travel will be required to all DCI Donor Services locations.

DCI Donor Services operates three organ procurement/tissue recovery organizations: New Mexico Donor Services, Sierra Donor Services, and Tennessee Donor Services. We also maximize the gift of life through the DCI Donor Services Tissue Bank and Sierra Donor Services Eye Bank.

Key Responsibilities
Branding / Communications
– Manages and directs internal and external communications.
– Creates communication strategies to increase the visibility of the mission on a national and regional level.
– Develops and maintains a comprehensive communications plan, with attention to maintaining a consistent brand voice across all platforms.
– Provides infrastructure within local areas for unified communications and branding messaging.
– Leverages communications resources to optimize effectiveness and decrease duplication of effort.
– May conduct market or public opinion research to assess program outcomes.
– Suggests promotional donation ideas in various types of media and provides counsel to top management on effective communication strategies.
– Works with company staff to set communications goals, conducts training in communications skills, and tracks and reports on successes.
Media
– Communicates brand messages to a multifaceted audience through public education initiatives, thought leadership opportunities, and media relations strategies.
– Works with team members to present the brand message across platforms and media outlets.
– Collaborates with regional staff to develop and hone messages for all audiences.
– Manages outreach to broadcast, print, and digital media outlets on positive donation and transplantation issues and stories.
– Develops and maintains relationships with top-tier national and regional reporters and editors.
– Increases placement in national, regional, and local media outlets.
– Serves as the key spokesperson as designated by the DCIDS CEO.
– Creates and maintains comprehensive systems for tracking and reporting media placements and contacts.
– Integrates online strategies into the overall communications strategy.
– Develops and maintains a Media Crisis Communications Plan and leads local teams in developing location-specific plans.
Partnerships
– Maintains strong relationships with communications staff of allied organizations (e.g., hospitals, Donate Life America, AOPO, EBAA).
– Facilitates corporate and community partnerships to build brand awareness and amplify the company’s mission.
Other Duties
This position will also perform other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate Attributes
– Ability to communicate internally and externally to diverse audiences, with knowledge, tact, courtesy, and superior attention to detail.
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; Master’s Degree preferred.
– Seven (7) years in a marketing or public relations role.
– Valid driver’s license with ability to pass MVR underwriting requirements.
Compensation and Benefits
– Up to 176 hours of PTO your first year.
– Up to 72 hours of Sick Time your first year.
