The American Chemistry Council (ACC), a national trade association representing the world’s leading chemical and plastics manufacturers, currently has an opportunity for Director, Political Action Committee for its Federal Affairs division in Washington, DC. ACC represents its members on public policy issues, coordinates the industry’s research and testing programs, and administers Responsible Care®, the industry’s environment, health, safety, and security performance improvement initiative.

Responsibilities

The position is responsible for building, maintaining, and directing, with the Vice President of Federal Affairs, all activities related to American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) Political Action Committee (PAC), including growing the program and soliciting contributors. The position is also responsible for scheduling, planning, and executing fundraisers and receptions with members of Congress and/or candidates. The position reports directly to the Vice President of Federal Affairs.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in political science or a related field.
  • At least eight years of fundraising or relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of Federal Election Commission campaign laws.
  • Highly effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and comfortably at the highest corporate and political levels.
  • Ability to advocate on behalf of the organization, including being influential, persuasive, and at times aggressive to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster effective relationships and networks with others.

Salary Range

$127,000.00 to $153,000.00 annually
