About this Role

BlackRock is seeking an experienced communications professional to develop proactive communications campaigns to reach stakeholders in Washington DC, including policymakers and regulators. This role will be responsible for driving activities that highlight BlackRock and our contributions to society and the communities where we operate, as well as regulatory and public policy issues in our nation’s capital. This role is a critical member of the global Corporate Affairs team and serves as the point person for Corporate Communications in Washington DC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop modern, proactive, multi-channel communications strategies to deliver BlackRock’s position on regulatory and public policy issues.
  • Champion public policy content and key thought leadership priorities that align with the firm’s strategy and business objectives.
  • Partner closely with the Government Affairs and Public Policy team to amplify BlackRock’s advocacy on behalf of our clients.
  • Counsel C-level executives or similarly senior principals.

Candidate Qualifications

  • 10+ years of work experience in communications, with significant financial services experience, strong understanding of capital markets, and related policy expertise.
  • Thorough understanding of the U.S. regulatory and federal policy environment.
  • Must be able to concisely present complex concepts through exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deliverables and tight deadlines.
  • Desire to succeed in a demanding, innovative, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Excellent collaboration and teambuilding skills.
  • Good judgment and impeccable ethics along with exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail.

An important part of BlackRock’s Corporate Affairs function, the global Corporate Communications team leads internal and external communications efforts that advance our purpose of helping more and more people experience financial well-being. The team develops compelling communications programs that enhance our culture, drive growth, strengthen our reputation, and build our brand.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $190,000 – $240,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and benefits, including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy, and total compensation may vary based on role, location, and individual performance.

Our Hybrid Work Model

Some business groups may require more time in the office depending on their roles and responsibilities.
