Zachary Piper Solutions is looking for a Science and Technology Communication Specialist with Government Public Affairs experience to build and execute a communications strategy for the Initiative. This position is hybrid remote with some onsite work in Arlington, VA. It also requires a TS/SCI clearance to start. Critical tasks will be to review identified Government, industry, allied and academic stakeholders, leverage existing speaking commitments and identify additional opportunities, and refine presentation of the goals, concepts, needs and approaches that define the Initiative. This position places an emphasis on the ability to devise and execute effective representations of the Initiative, S&T pathways, and stakeholder concerns to internal and external audiences.
This position is hybrid remote with some onsite work in Arlington, VA.
Responsibilities for the Science and Technology Communication Specialist:
- Develop, manage, and coordinate communication strategy and elements within that strategy, and develop and oversee execution of plans to roll out a new field of S&T
- Demonstrate creativity and foresight by identifying, preparing, and presenting detailed technical reports and briefings on new concepts and technical directions impacting programs/projects, and defining future technology requirements
- Collaborate with a broad array of internal and external stakeholders, engineers, scientists, and work domain experts in the planning, design, development, and testing of new technologies
- Draft test plans, conduct task analyses, and write evaluation protocols for efficacy of communication strategies and actions
Required Qualifications for the Science and Technology Communication Specialist:
- Broad experience, coupled with technical depth in disparate domains of Government science and technology investment
- Attention to detail plus strong multitask and time management skills
- Ability to work in a highly complex, fast-paced environment meeting tight deadlines
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills – must be able to deliver high-quality reports and presentations requested by the sponsor
- Record of writing and publishing refereed articles in academic journals or industry publications
- Government Public Affairs experience
- Ability to work with little or no direction
- Bachelor’s and fifteen (15) years’ experience; Master’s and thirteen (13) years’ experience
- TS/SCI required to start
- US citizenship required
