Opportunity at a Glance

We’re looking for a Senior Director of Brand to own ACAMS’ global messaging, communications, and brand strategy. This role will be responsible for telling our story in a way that drives business growth, builds trust with our members, and positions ACAMS as the industry leader. You’ll lead a team managing member communications, external PR, social media, brand/visual identity, email communications, and copywriting.

This is a strategic and operational role—perfect for someone who loves to shape narratives, drive consistency across all touchpoints, and operationalize brand strategy. You will get to take a brand with 20+ years, global recognition, and a track record of impact and shape the next wave of growth and evolution.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and Own Brand Strategy – Update, define, and implement ACAMS’ brand positioning, messaging, and storytelling approach.
  • Lead Member & External Communications – Ensure all messaging aligns with ACAMS’ voice, reinforcing our value to members and the industry.
  • Manage Global Marketing Calendar – Own the planning and execution of key brand and communication initiatives.
  • Oversee Content & Copywriting – Lead the development of high-impact content across web, email, social, and print.
  • Own Social & Comms Strategy – Drive awareness and engagement through external communications and media relations.
  • Brand & Visual Identity – Ensure brand consistency across all channels and materials.
  • Operationalize Brand & Communication Strategy – Work cross-functionally to embed brand messaging into marketing, sales, and product efforts.
  • Lead & Develop a High-Performing Team – Manage and mentor a team across brand, content, social, and communications.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in brand, communications, or marketing leadership roles.
  • Experience in financial services, compliance, or related industries preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute global brand strategy.
  • Strong understanding of membership-driven and/or subscription media organizations.
  • Experience managing teams across editorial, content, social, and communications.
  • Excellent storytelling, writing, and messaging skills.
