Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic and creative Social Media and Content Manager who loves books to create organic social content, manage our social calendar and lead our roster of freelance content creators. If you enjoy coming up with many new, original, out-of-the-box content ideas, testing and analyzing content across social media platforms, and constantly iterating to find out what works, we would love to hear from you.
What You Will Do…
Content Strategy and Creation:
- Concept and pitch brand-aligned content ideas to run across our social platforms with an eye toward:
- Original thought and creativity
- Customer insights
- Trends on what’s working
- Platform best practices
- Continually research and propose tactics to grow our social presence through content and other initiatives like external commenting, following, and more.
Channel Management
- Identify ways to drive engagement across social media platforms like Instagram (feed, reels, and stories), TikTok, and YouTube.
- Own the development, definition, and execution of our social strategies across channels, driving brand discovery and awareness.
- Consistently monitor and report on the performance of posts across channels, coming up with recommendations on improvements and new things to test based on results.
Creative Management
- Manage and grow a roster of freelance creators, from briefing them on concepts to fielding and honing their pitches, in order to create best-in-class content that drives measurable results.
- Embrace an iterative process while servicing quick turnaround times, capturing trending moments (when it makes sense for the brand) and maintaining a clear, enthusiastic, and proactive approach towards content development and execution.
- Collaborate with our creative and marketing teams to identify opportunities for content to be used in other channels, such as paid ads or the BOTM app feed.
What You Should Have…
- 4+ years of experience working in social media content management, with a propensity for creating content preferred, at a content-driven and/or consumer brand.
- Experience optimizing content across social channels and tracking performance metrics to refine content strategy over time.
- Proven experience creating social media strategies and content calendars, managing and owning the execution and posting.
- A unique POV and creative outlook on social content and engagement.
- An interest in staying informed and keeping a pulse on current trends, cultural moments, and updates to social media platforms in addition to operating with a bias for action to activate against ideas quickly.
- Solid project management skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic, the ability to learn quickly, take on new challenges, and apply feedback.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Fan of new release fiction or a current or former Book of the Month member.
Salary Range: $70,000 – $100,000
