### About the Role

We’re looking for an Associate Manager of Consumer, Product & Technology Communications to help tell stories about the Instacart brand and the innovative features we’re building in the Instacart app to transform grocery shopping by making it more affordable, effortless and personalized than ever before. This dynamic position will give you the opportunity to engage deeply with product communications, new technical and AI developments, data storytelling, and our award-winning brand marketing storytelling.

Reporting to the Director of Consumer, Product & Technology Communications, this role is a vital part of our larger Communications group that includes Corporate & Employee Communications, Shopper & Policy Communications, and Ads & Retail Communications. Together, we tell the Instacart story to a diverse audience comprising customers, shoppers, current and future employees, advertising partners, and retailers.

### About the Job

#### Key Responsibilities:

– Support the team’s Senior Managers and Director and assist with project management of various proactive announcements, including new partnerships, product updates, brand marketing initiatives, data stories and technology milestones.
– Develop an expertise in Instacart’s existing products, services and brand campaigns, and draft corresponding messaging including press releases, blogs, pitches, and internal communications.
– Proactively pitch and place coverage with tier 2 and 3 consumer, tech, business, grocery trade, and specialty media outlets to showcase how Instacart is working to make online grocery more accessible for everyone, and how the company is adopting AI to transform grocery into a highly personalized shopping experience.
– Assist in managing Instacart’s technical and engineering blog.
– Support the team on inbound press requests related to Instacart products, technology, and unique consumer grocery purchasing data.
– Collaborate with the team’s embedded data specialist to creatively mine for unique evergreen consumer data story angles based on Instacart’s industry-leading grocery data.
– Support the rest of the Consumer, Product & Technology Communications team as they work cross functionally with colleagues across the broader Communications team, as well as Instacart’s Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to develop and execute communication plans and strategies.
– Track media coverage, build media lists, facilitate legal reviews and conduct specialty research projects for the Communications team.

### About You

#### Minimum Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
– 3+ years of experience in communications or public relations, focusing on consumer products, brand communications, or technology communications.
– Strong media relations management and an understanding of the media landscape.
– Exceptional skills in storytelling, writing, and editing.
– Outstanding organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail and impeccable judgment.
– Ability to maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure.

#### Preferred Qualifications:

– In-house experience in a similar role.
– Proven track record of supporting complex PR campaigns internally and externally.
– Self-starter, highly proactive and energetic team player who is deeply committed to quality and excellence.
– Excellent interpersonal and project management skills, capable of working collaboratively across multiple teams.
– Adaptability to rapidly changing trends, requirements, and team dynamics.
– Outstanding time-management and prioritization skills, with the ability to excel at multiple priorities under short deadlines.
– A creative flair and interest in developing unique storytelling angles and ideas that will break through the crowded media landscape.

Instacart provides highly market-competitive compensation and benefits in each location where our employees work. This role is remote and the base pay range for a successful candidate is dependent on their permanent work location. Please review our Flex First remote work policy here.

Offers may vary based on many factors, such as candidate experience and skills required for the role. Additionally, this role is eligible for a new hire equity grant as well as annual refresh grants. Please read more about our benefits offerings here.

For US-based candidates, the base pay ranges for a successful candidate are listed below.

– CA, NY, CT, NJ: $113,000—$125,000 USD
– WA: $108,000—$120,000 USD
– OR, DE, ME, MA, MD, NH, RI, VT, DC, PA, VA, CO, TX, IL, HI: $104,000—$115,000 USD
– All other states: $94,000—$104,000 USD
