Senior Director of Marketing & Communications
GCSAA is seeking a visionary marketing and communications leader to shape the brand and strategic voice of one of golf’s most influential associations. As Senior Director of Marketing & Communications, you will lead a high-performing team and drive a comprehensive, data-informed strategy that elevates GCSAA’s mission, members, and message. You’ll oversee marketing, content, digital platforms, publications, and public relations—ensuring consistency, creativity, and impact across all touchpoints.

Qualified candidates possess:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including grammar, proofreading, and prioritization skills
- Excellent content writing, editing abilities, strong creative thinking skills, coupled with strong attention to detail
- Extensive knowledge in marketing and brand management, publications, and communication plan development and implementation
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, budget-conscious environment
- Ability to be an effective leader and contributor in a collaborative team environment; ability to build healthy and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to effectively implement new ideas that improve project quality and effectiveness
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Journalism, or related field or equivalent experience
- Seven plus (7+) years of experience in marketing, (advertising/marketing agencies), publications or communications setting including three plus (3+) years at a director level or higher
- Excellent presentation and public speaking skills, including experience in front of large groups
- Ability to deliver constructive feedback in a professional, thoughtful manner
- High level of energy, self-motivated, and flexible with track record of innovation
- Experience working in a non-profit/membership driven association, valued, but not required
- Knowledge of golf course management/interest in and exposure to golf industry, valued, but not required
- Ability to travel (up to 10%), overnight stays included
- Position will reside at our headquarters in Lawrence, KS

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range is $130,000 – $140,000 annually. In addition to GCSAA’s attractive compensation and benefits package, we also provide generous paid leave, allow for community involvement opportunities, provide a hybrid (2 remote days/week) work schedule, enforce a year-round casual attire, staff fun events, and wellness incentives.
