What We’ll Bring:

The Director of Communications for Global Operations is responsible for leading a strategic communication program for TransUnion’s Global Operations function to help inform and inspire support of TransUnion’s growth and success. As the lead communications strategist for Global Operations, you will serve as a trusted thought partner to the function, identifying and implementing the highest impact opportunities for communications to deliver value to the business. You’ll bring a broad communications lens to strategic decisions, surfacing opportunities and risks, and leverage creative storytelling to convey the team’s vision, strategy and goals in ways that inspire action and build belief.

Aligned to the TU global operating model and matrix structure, the role will report to the Sr. Director of Strategy, Planning & Communications for Global Operations and has a dotted line to the Head of TransUnion’s Corporate Affairs & Communications team. As a leader/member of TransUnion’s Corporate Affairs & Communications team, this role has responsibility broadly for building the reputation of the company as a global information and insights company that makes trust possible in global commerce.

Our ideal candidate will have superior communication expertise, business acumen and people skills, and a strong track record of developing and deploying effective communications across internal and external stakeholder groups to drive business impact. A key responsibility will be envisioning and executing strategic communication plans and messages that help TransUnion associates connect with each other, deliver the business strategy, live our brand and values, and achieve organizational transformation initiatives.

This role requires a candidate be able to develop and oversee execution of creative and compelling communication strategies and messages, and influence across multiple stakeholder groups, cultures and locations. The candidate will be expected to set short- and long-term strategy and drive continuous improvement to TransUnion’s communications playbooks and processes, in alignment with the enterprise strategy and brand. You’ll be responsible for unifying messages across audiences and channels, ensuring clarity, consistency and alignment, and instilling disciplined best practices and structure to maximize impact. The role is required to coach executives and colleagues on their roles as communicators, and optimize the performance of its team as well as indirect contributors and agencies.

The role liaises with colleagues at all levels across the company, including Executive, Global Operations, Strategy, HR and Marketing leadership. They must be a strategic thinker able to operate at a senior level. They will hold responsibility as the executive communications lead for the Chief Global Operations Officer and contribute to TransUnion’s communications centers of excellence.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 10+ years relevant professional experience, preferably in both an agency and in-house setting, with significant management/senior team exposure
  • A strategic communications mindset with a strong track record of success developing, executing and measuring strategic communication programs
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to write, edit and present compelling content
  • Proven team leadership capabilities, preferably in an international, matrixed organization
  • Strong understanding of brand and how to tell corporate and functional stories in alignment with a single brand
  • Ability to interpret complex systems and activities and communicate them clearly to associates
  • A natural storyteller, experienced in leading projects across multiple marketing communication channels
  • Sensitivity to cultural practices while maintaining core enterprise messaging
  • Ability to measure the impact of team activities and ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Expertise in developing and deploying content across multiple channels (email, intranet, presentations, events, articles, social media, etc.)
  • Experience coaching senior executives on strategic communication matters
  • Oversight of budgets and vendors within defined frameworks
  • Innovation, creativity, and initiative – openness to new ways of working
  • Strong relationship-building skills at senior levels
  • Excellent prioritization and organizational skills under pressure
  • Willingness to support broader corporate communications initiatives and technologies
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or related field

Impact You’ll Make:

  • Develop and lead TransUnion’s communications strategy and execution for the Global Operations function
  • Serve as strategic communications counsel to key internal stakeholders
  • Liaise closely with functional, HR and marketing stakeholders to ensure program alignment
  • Plan and prioritize activity across the full team and local programs
  • Evolve reporting and evaluation metrics aligned to business goals
  • Maintain materials for ongoing corporate communications (strategy, plans, message docs, etc.)
  • Enhance communication capabilities within Global Operations

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.

Pay Scale Information:

U.S. base salary range: $150,100.00 – $225,000.00 annually.

This range reflects a reasonable estimate of compensation for this role. Actual compensation is determined based on factors including education, training, experience, skill set, location, industry knowledge, and role responsibilities.

Regular, full-time non-sales positions may be eligible for TransUnion’s annual bonus plan. Certain roles may also qualify for long-term incentives.
