We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA), part of the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless, Bell’s Autonomous Pod Transport (APT), and Bell’s High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next-generation stop-fold aircraft.

Global Strategic Communications

The Sr. Military Communications Strategist directly leads and manages global communications for Bell’s military fielded programs including the Bell Boeing V-22, AH-1Z, UH-1Y, and Special Missions Aircraft.

This candidate is responsible for managing all communications and public affairs efforts for Bell’s military business, including domestic and international programs. Additional scope includes:

Strategic communications campaign building

Media relations activities

Program and company message development

Crisis management and mitigation

Vendor relations and agency communications

Executive thought leadership programs

Budget management

This role is based in Bell’s Fort Worth, TX headquarters and reports directly to the Sr. Manager, Global Public Relations. There are no direct reports to this role.

What You’ll Be Doing as a Sr. Military Communications Strategist

Lead, build, and execute comprehensive, detailed communications campaigns and plans to support Bell’s military business.

Develop and execute media strategies to secure high-level placements in tier-1, aviation and defense trade, and relevant special interest publications in print, broadcast, and online media, while managing existing journalist relationships and cultivating new ones.

Plan, write, and manage written and visual communications across various platforms including press releases, print media, speeches, intranet, external website content, and visual media.

Coordinate actions to support effective communications across multiple departments, regions, and teams required to promote key events and successes aligned with strategic business objectives.

Craft clear, consistent, and impactful messages that represent the organization’s brand.

Serve as the global primary point of contact for Bell’s fielded military aircraft, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, while simultaneously performing as the primary point of contact for journalists and media members for queries, interviews, site visits, and demonstrations.

Monitor, track, and analyze media and PR results for military aviation trends across a competitive landscape to provide strategic feedback regarding public opinion and messaging required for communication strategy recommendations.

Oversee multiple international PR agencies and partners, while coordinating and developing comprehensive communications plans to ensure alignment with global objectives.

Outline and track key metrics demonstrating Bell’s share of voice and clearly articulate results and demonstrate ROI to key audiences.

Work closely alongside Bell Brand and Marketing teams to identify advertising and sponsorship alignment opportunities to ensure strategic message alignment and enhance brand visibility and trust.

Qualifications
Skills You Bring to This Role

Experience working with and advising senior executives at all levels, and managing external agencies

Understanding of industry practices and standards within communications

Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communications skills

Prior military experience or knowledge of the Defense industry is preferred

What You Need to Be Successful

Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Public Affairs, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or other related field

Master’s degree preferred

5 years’ experience in Public Relations, Public Affairs, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or related field

Ability to accommodate working hours of international business in other time zones

Ability to travel up to 15% as needed, both domestic and international
