The Role
AMD is looking for a seasoned Corporate PR Manager to join our Global Communications and Events team. In this role, you will support the planning and execution of corporate-level news and announcements as well as proactive PR campaigns to articulate the company’s strategic direction with business and financial press. You will partner closely with members of the AMD communications team and stakeholders across the business to craft high-impact external communications that position AMD as a thought leader across the diverse and exciting markets we serve – from the data center and PCs to gaming and AI.
The right candidate brings extensive media relations experience, strong press relationships, and expert communications skills coupled with strong ownership of projects and understanding of news cycles and the ingredients needed to land top-tier press coverage in highly competitive, fast-moving industries.
The Person
- Collaborative, results-focused member of the AMD Corporate PR team, supporting planning and execution of corporate news items to best articulate AMD’s position on a range of topics.
- Proven track record of engaging with and understanding the unique needs of business, financial, and technology media to craft messages that “break through” across competitive, high-growth markets and industries.
- An understanding of the semiconductor industry, AI, and enterprise technology trends, with a passion for telling stories in new and unique ways to drive high-impact coverage.
- Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to succinctly communicate complex technical and financial information to a broad corporate audience.
- Proven experience drafting corporate news collateral including press releases and messaging as well as briefing senior leadership on media best practices.
- Intellectually curious and comfortable operating in a dynamic, agile, and fast-paced working environment for a growing, global tech company.
- Strong project and time management skills with an ability to drive several projects at once.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft announcement plans, strategies, and collateral (including but not limited to press releases/blogs, messaging and FAQs, executive briefing collateral, coverage reports, and more) to support corporate news and storytelling that brings together business, technology, and policy initiatives to clearly articulate AMD’s growth story and differentiation.
- Work closely with senior members of the Corporate PR team to support proactive campaigns and initiatives that elevate company thought leadership and visibility with top-tier press and external stakeholders.
- Closely monitor business and financial media landscapes and emerging trends relevant to the business and our customers.
- Work with internal stakeholders including Product PR, Social Media, Executive Communications, and Industry Analyst Relations to support key company initiatives including news, product launches and partnerships, events, and more.
Work Experience
- External-facing, corporate, and/or technology public relations experience.
- In-house or agency experience working for a global technology company highly preferred.
Academic Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree.
