The Boeing Company seeks a Communications Manager based at its headquarters in Arlington, VA, to be a leader on the Public Affairs and Advocacy Communications team and work closely with Government Operations partners.

The successful applicant will have experience managing a team; possess excellent writing and editing skills; understand the U.S. Government as well as broader geopolitical dynamics and their interplay with industry; and demonstrate an ability to quickly learn about all aspects of Boeing’s business. Experience planning and executing public policy advocacy campaigns – particularly those involving engagement with third-party organizations – is a valuable plus.

The position requires judgment, discretion, and initiative, and an ability to work with colleagues at a range of levels and locations. Like all leaders at the company, the Communications Manager must consistently model Boeing’s values and behaviors while carrying out job responsibilities.

Position Responsibilities:

Develops, empowers, and manages a team that provides communications counsel to members of the Government Operations (GovOps) team

Partners with Government Operations to advocate for key programs and policies; works closely with industry groups and other stakeholders

Develops creative plans for the Policy and Advocacy Communications team that increase the company’s engagement with policymakers and other stakeholders while aligning with the rest of the company

Provides intelligence and analysis to the broader Communications team on U.S. policies affecting the company and industry

Collaborates closely with Boeing partners around the world on major issues that cut across national borders

Supports Communications activities in the Arlington office, including frequent and high-profile events in the office and the broader National Capital Region

This position is based at Boeing’s headquarters in Arlington, VA. Candidates must have the capability to work in the office five days a week, with some flexibility.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor’s degree or higher

5+ years of experience in public affairs or corporate communications

5+ years of experience writing and editing multiple communications deliverables

3+ years of experience with government and policy in a professional setting

Experience with media relations

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Aerospace industry experience

Experience managing a team

Proficiency in digital communication tools

Media relations experience

Public policy advocacy experience

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $113,900 – $154,100
