We’ve worked on some of the most high-profile political, corporate, and public policy challenges of the past decade. Our clients span the globe, and our issue portfolio includes healthcare, technology, finance, digital assets, international affairs, and litigation support.
We’re growing and we are seeking a new member for our communications team at the Senior Director level.
Qualifications
We’re looking for a natural storyteller. Someone who is curious about the world and isn’t afraid to strike up a conversation with a stranger. A person who values building relationships and stewarding them.
The ideal candidate has established media relationships and great comfort working with journalists, possesses impeccable writing and editing skills, and approaches challenges with vigor and tenacity. Candidates should possess an excellent work ethic, bring enthusiasm to their work, enjoy taking initiative, and be highly organized and able to manage multiple work streams simultaneously. Candidates familiar with business and financial press are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Building and pitching stories to generate high-value earned media.
- Developing media relationships and acting as liaison for clients with the press.
- Working with the communications team to draft press notes, white papers, messaging documents, and other communications materials.
- Supporting communications team members with client projects and tasks as they develop.
Requirements
- An undergraduate degree or comparable work experience in communications is required. Majors in English, journalism, business, political science, and economics are especially encouraged to apply.
- Journalism, public relations agency, or spokesperson experience are highly preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.
- This position requires strong writing skills, a professional demeanor, and good knowledge of the national political and media environment, with a motivation and interest in engaging with media.
- On-the-record experience is desired but not required.
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to communicate ideas persuasively.
