Position Overview:

The National Association of Manufacturers is seeking a standout, proven Digital Creative Strategist and content creator to assume the role of Digital Creative Strategist. This is an opportunity to be at the forefront of the NAM’s strategy to advocate for the values of free enterprise, competitiveness, individual liberty and equal opportunity, while simultaneously enhancing the association’s engagement with key stakeholders to drive vital objectives that make not only an impact for manufacturers but also for all Americans.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Thrive in a dynamic role that merges output of a graphic designer, the insight and messaging skill of a political operative and digital native, and the strategic mindset of creative director.
  • Be at the cornerstone of building and amplifying the NAM brand and its family of brands digitally across various platforms and communications channels, and key to the NAM’s storytelling on behalf of manufacturers in the United States.
  • Embrace the NAM’s mission, have a track record of developing breakthrough and compelling digital creative, executing high-quality digital copy and content, and possess the technical and organizational know-how to help manage and maintain the NAM’s digital infrastructure.

Digital brand management:

  • Extend the NAM visual brand through all digital platforms and channels.
  • Develop and maintain digital brand guidelines and style guides that ensure consistency and recognition across all digital touchpoints.

Content creation:

  • Work collaboratively with the NAM creative team and content creators to develop digital graphics and other visuals to advance NAM brand goals.
  • Create high quality audio, video and static multimedia assets.
  • Create rapid response digital graphics to insert the NAM and our priorities in the digital conversation about the future of manufacturing in the United States.
  • Design digital creative resources and templates that empower team members and association partners and members to create and amplify content in line with brand specifications and goals.
  • Identify opportunities to increase the NAM’s brand presence online.
  • Continually track and evaluate the effectiveness of digital strategies.

Campaign development:

  • Design and help execute impactful digital creative campaigns that reinforce the NAM’s stature as the voice and resource for manufacturers.
  • Leverage insights and data to iterate and improve upon campaign strategies for maximum reach and engagement.

Collaboration and communication:

  • Work closely with other departments, understanding their needs, and translating them into digital creative outputs.
  • Present creative ideas and strategies to stakeholders, gaining feedback and ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals.
  • Cultivate relationships with digital partners that can help advance our mission.

Continuous learning and improvement:

  • Stay on top of latest trends and best practices in digital design and branding.
  • Develop a familiarity or an understanding of skills and roles that set the NAM’s data science and digital strategy apart, including digital targeting, messaging testing, surveys and email marketing.

We Are Looking for Team Players Who Meet the Following Criteria:

Qualified candidates will hold a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization, such as graphic design or digital media, plus two to three years of relevant professional experience or have relevant work experience to supplement formal education.

  • Understanding of American politics and policy issues—understanding of policy issues affecting the manufacturing industry is a plus.
  • Proficiency in digital design software and tools.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing and branding trends.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaborate and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Project management skills: Manage tasks and meet tight deadlines; strong attention to detail and dedication to quality and consistent products.
  • Problem-solving skills: You possess the self-motivated ability to solve complex problems in an innovative, effective and timely manner.
