WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a Director, Communications – Americas who will lead the development and execution of DECIEM’s regional Communications strategy across the US, Canada and Latin America, in alignment with global company priorities, ensuring all activities reflect business ambitions and brand DNA.
This is a hybrid role, based two days a week out of our New York office.
The pay range for this role is between $165,000 – $185,000 based on experience.
WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE
- Oversee and execute complex regional initiatives that span multiple markets, leading integrated communication campaigns and ensuring consistent delivery of business outcomes
- Manage the allocation and optimization of budgets across influencer, press, and culture & community pillars, with a focus on strong tactical ROI and delivery of key KPIs
- Collaborate cross-functionally with regional Brand and Partnerships teams to support brand initiatives, go-to-market execution, activations, and retail launches through cohesive Communications planning
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with business, trade, and financial press, acting as the primary point of contact for key journalists and media stakeholders
- Champion a culture of collaboration across the Communications department, promoting camaraderie and enabling seamless teamwork through thoughtful process design and implementation
- Develop relevant and timely spokesperson content inclusive of brand messaging for both proactive and reactive communications to business and financial media
- Drive creative storytelling opportunities across commercial channels, including TikTok Shop, Amazon, DTC, and FSS, maximizing earned media and influencer-led content
- Manage, train, and mentor the regional Communications team, focusing on skill development, performance optimization, and hiring in support of regional expansion. Set measurable objectives for direct reports and provide coaching to build functional and interpersonal competencies that align with strategic team goals
- Represent the regional Communications function in internal and external meetings, advocating for team objectives, fostering alignment with executive leadership, and supporting senior leadership profile-building efforts
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE
- Minimum of 10 years of equivalent experience in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related functions, with at least 7 years of people management/leadership experience
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence and inspire diverse, global teams
- Proven analytical, coordination, and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Experience managing and empowering cross-cultural teams; demonstrated ability to mentor and lead others to success
- Demonstrated ability to generate strategic solutions to communications challenges, stay culturally relevant, and engage key stakeholders
