Position Overview

We are seeking a go-getter who is ready to roll up their sleeves and help grow and expand our organization’s organic social media program with a focus on driving brand awareness, engagement, and developing opportunities for fundraising on social media.

The Senior Associate, Social Media & Engagement will support the development of impactful social media strategies and manage the program’s implementation across all platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, and TikTok – with an emphasis on video creation. They will assist in creating a content calendar, manage the daily posting and scheduling of social media content, collaborate on the ideation and creation of content, and monitor/respond to comments.

This individual will work closely with the Social Media Manager and Celebrity Partnerships & Influencer Marketing Manager to create, manage, and monitor influencer campaigns with a focus on maximizing influencer engagement. This role will be crucial in growing the influencer pipeline for fundraising.

Final candidates will provide examples of social media posts and take a writing test.

Highlighted Responsibilities

  • Support the Social Media Manager in creating and maintaining a social media calendar.
  • Write effective, cohesive, and engaging brand messaging for social media posts.
  • Support the development of a wide range of multimedia content forms, including video, text, images, gifs, and other content forms that best utilize the technology available on any given social media/digital platform.
  • Manage the daily scheduling and posting of content across all social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, and TikTok.
  • Support the development of strategic social media campaigns and their creative assets.
  • Support social media activations across verticals and departments, including Corporate Partners, Public Relations, Editorial, and Celebrity.
  • Manage social media engagement by engaging with followers, responding to comments and messages while maintaining a positive brand image and fostering meaningful connections with our audience.
  • Support the Social Media Manager in influencer strategy by researching and maintaining a database of micro-influencer opportunities.
  • Support the preparation of monthly reports on revenue growth, audience growth, content performance, and user engagement.
  • Provide event support and coverage across social channels which may include live conversations, stories, live-tweeting, live blogging, etc.
  • Stay up-to-date on new digital technologies and social media best practices.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in developing content, posting, and analyzing metrics on social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Understanding of how to use social media to strategically build brands and create attention.
  • Strong writing, copy-editing, and proofreading skills on short deadlines, and able to effectively deal with competing priorities/deadlines.
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate, particularly on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
  • Knowledge of social media monitoring tools such as Sprout Social, Meltwater, and Brandwatch.
  • Knowledge of graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.) and experience editing and producing multimedia assets such as videos, GIFs, social graphics, etc.
  • Experience working on social media for an organization with a global mission, nonprofit environment.
  • Must be passionate about solving global hunger and be inspired by the prospect of growing audience awareness of World Food Program USA.
