About the Role
In this pivotal role, the Social Media and Digital Communications Manager will develop, implement and lead a digital communications strategy for ITI, the trade tech association for the global tech industry. This means creating engaging content that connects with ITI’s key audiences, ranging from global policymakers to member companies, across ITI’s social media, website, newsletter, and more. Content will support ITI’s policy and advocacy campaigns, help audiences understand complex policy developments, promote the positive role of the tech industry and ITI’s members, and build the ITI brand with new and existing audiences.
This position will produce and publish all digital content including email newsletters, graphics, social copy, event invitations, and video assets, including ITI’s podcast. This role will also oversee the ITI website – leveraging it as a tool to promote ITI and the organization’s policy priorities – as well as market and promote ITI’s events, including ITI’s annual summit, The Intersect.
The successful candidate will develop a deep understanding of tech policy and have a proven record of amplifying an organization’s priorities on digital platforms. This role requires excellent storytelling instincts, superb writing and editing skills, technical expertise to manage the ITI website, and a highly collaborative nature, plus an understanding of how to communicate to policymakers.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and lead engaging, policy-focused digital content: From producing and posting content for all ITI digital properties across the website and social platforms, to crafting and executing a strategy to increase website traffic and engagement, you’ll help advance ITI’s policy advocacy by leveraging our subject matter expertise and communicating with external audiences.
- Own ITI’s social media and digital presence: You will manage all social media platforms – X, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Facebook – including crafting strategic social media and email marketing calendars. This includes keeping a close eye on industry trends, leveraging algorithms and platform-specific techniques, evaluating digital and other media metrics closely, and providing recommendations and analysis to the Senior Director of Communications.
- Expand ITI’s brand: Through overseeing the production of a biweekly U.S.-focused newsletter and monthly EU–focused newsletter, you’ll help push ITI’s brand to lawmakers, stakeholders, and tech decision makers across the globe.
- Lead digital content ideation: You’ll produce video content for ITI and key executives, including but not limited to: direct-to-camera explainers, congressional testimony recaps, and thought leadership highlights. We’ll also lean on your support and direction to design ITI collateral including event invitations, reports, policy papers, and more.
- Manage an award-winning podcast: You will oversee ITI’s Download on Tech podcast and own the production pipeline – from outreach to guests to editing and publishing to introducing creative ideas to promote each episode.
- Serve as a strategic marketing advisor: You’ll serve as a leading thought partner to ITI’s events team and develop event-related communications and promotion materials, including for DC’s premier tech policy summit, The Intersect.
