Position Overview
The Senior Director of Corporate Communications plays a pivotal role in shaping and conveying the company’s narrative to both internal and external stakeholders. This position is responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies that enhance the organization’s reputation and foster positive relationships with the media, employees, and the public. The successful candidate will oversee the creation of compelling content across various platforms, ensuring consistency in messaging and alignment with corporate goals. Ultimately, the Senior Director of Corporate Communications contributes significantly to the overall brand image and stakeholder engagement of the organization.
Essential Duties
- Develop and execute comprehensive corporate communication strategies that align with the company’s objectives.
- Oversee creation and editing of press releases; manage review and approval process for press releases and other forms of internal and external communications.
- Manage media relations, including liaising with external PR firms, building relationships with journalists, and responding to media inquiries.
- Develop and maintain regularly updated corporate presentations and materials.
- Create poster presentations for scientific and academic meetings (with input from R&D teams).
- Oversee the company’s social media presence.
- Oversee the company’s websites.
- Ensure that all communications are consistent and on-brand.
- Monitor and analyze communication effectiveness, making adjustments as necessary to improve outreach and engagement.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Necessary Skills and Abilities
- Experience in communication management.
- Familiarity with digital marketing and social media analytics.
- Familiarity with biotech and/or pharmaceutical companies and drug development generally.
- Leadership skills to ensure all stakeholders are aligned with the communication strategy.
- Analytical skills will be utilized to assess the effectiveness of communication efforts and to make data-driven decisions for future initiatives.
- Creativity is important for developing innovative communication campaigns that capture the audience’s attention.
Preferred Skills
- Preferred skills, such as digital marketing knowledge, will enhance the ability to engage with audiences through various online platforms, further amplifying the organization’s message.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in corporate communications or public relations.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful communication strategies.
Salary Range
$200,000 – $300,000 USD
