About our External Communications Manager role:

As our External Communications Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of corporate, product, and customer PR, telling impactful stories every day. In this product-focused role, you’ll represent Sage’s innovative technology in North America. Working with a global team, you’ll create and implement strategic communication campaigns to boost awareness and success of our groundbreaking products.

The successful candidate will need to work from our offices 3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

You’ll have the freedom to develop and manage external communications programs, including:

  • Building and maintaining strong media relations
  • Planning and executing communication strategies for product launches
  • Collaborating with customer teams to create media stories
  • Developing and distributing press releases
  • Preparing executives for media interactions and positioning them as thought leaders
  • Tracking and analyzing PR campaign metrics to measure effectiveness and provide regular reports

Minimum Experience:

  • 6 years of PR experience: Proven ability to handle projects independently and produce celebrated content.
  • 2-3 years of product/technology experience: Understanding of technology’s impact and how products help customers thrive.
  • Strong writing skills: Demonstrated success with content samples. Proficiency in AP Style, Microsoft 365, and other platforms.
  • Storytelling ability: Capable of creating engaging, click-worthy stories and making software appealing.
  • PR strategy involvement: Active participation and enjoyment in PR strategy development.
  • Media relations: Knowledge of media appeal, story placement, and creative strategies for securing placements.
  • PR agency experience: Experience working with or for a PR agency, with strong organizational skills for managing agency operations.
