Account Supervisor, Corporate Reputation
Organization: Edelman
Location: Atlanta, GA
Date Posted: 01/25/2024

Edelman is looking for a self-motivated, earned-centric, and talented communications professional to join our Corporate Reputation team as an Account Supervisor. We help our clients communicate their most pressing business challenges to a wide stakeholder set, ultimately expanding and improving their corporate reputation. While we help clients with the day-to-day, we also look around corners to help future-proof their businesses.

The ideal candidate will be a skilled account manager and client counselor with a broad set of skills and abilities in corporate communications, including hands-on experience in earned media, message development, and content development and amplification. We’re seeking candidates with diverse backgrounds and skill sets to push our thinking, share fresh, innovative ideas, and elevate the quality of counsel we deliver for our clients.

This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with talented corporate storytellers and integrated teams across Edelman’s global network. You’ll be joining a group of dedicated professionals who equally enjoy being on the forefront of business challenges and driving client results as much as they do working with each other.

What you’ll do in this role…

  • Demonstrate excellence in writing and proofreading both internal and client-facing materials, including earned media plans, press releases, pitch letters, and client correspondence.
  • Help set and lead traditional media strategies.
  • Craft pitches, actively build relationships with media, and execute media relations programs.
  • Counsel clients and troubleshoot client and internal issues to meet business goals.
  • Supervise staff by mentoring, motivating, coaching, and consistently providing feedback to both junior and senior colleagues.
  • Provide client service administration support; attend meetings, handle scheduling logistics, review agendas and recaps, and assist in budget management and reporting.
  • Participate in new business processes including research, audits, and proposal development, as needed.
  • Commit to continuous learning through internal and external training opportunities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in Communications Marketing and/or related fields.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Open to working with a variety of clients, i.e., retail, telecommunications, and healthcare.
  • Excellent writing skills across various formats and media.
  • Media relations experience with demonstrated relationships and results.
  • Solid grasp of effective storytelling and ability to think through how best to pitch a client’s story.
  • Have hands-on experience in content and message development, thought leadership, and event management.
  • Keen interest and high awareness of current events; understanding of today’s news and media landscape; and industry issues, products, services, and competitors.
  • Solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Proven management and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.

Salary: $67,000 – $94,000 a year

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
