Position Summary:
The Manager of Communications will be responsible for managing and executing communication strategies focused on agilon health’s physician partners and employees in support of the company purpose and strategic business objectives.

The Communications & Public Affairs team is responsible for bringing agilon’s vision and mission to life and working with our physician partners through several critical functions including Communications & Marketing, Public Policy, Sustainability & Social Impact, and Organic Growth.
As a key member of the Communications & Public Affairs team, the Manager of Communications will be responsible for managing and executing communications strategies focused on agilon’s physician partners and employees in support of the company purpose and strategic business objectives. The Manager will support the overall corporate communications strategy. Reporting to the Senior Director, Marketing & Communications, this role must be able to operate successfully in a fast-paced, matrixed organization working with agilon leaders, teams across the organization, and the company’s physician partners.
- Lead, manage and execute day-to-day communications strategies, content creation, messaging and operational processes that optimize engagement, experience and connectivity of agilon’s physician partners across the Network and agilon employees.
- Develop and lead execution of high-quality written materials and associated operational processes that convey agilon’s corporate narrative, including messaging platforms, Town Hall presentations, newsletters, Q&As, and other materials, as appropriate.
- Support efforts to drive select C-level executives targeted internal visibility plans, providing strategic communication guidance and crafting compelling messages aligned with agilon’s brand voice.
- Support execution of corporate communication strategy across multiple channels aligned with agilon’s overall goals, objectives and values.
- Collaborate cross-functionally within matrix teams and across functions, including human resources, markets, clinical, technology, legal and compliance, to align communication efforts and ensure consistency in messaging.
- Leverage company programs, policies, and resources to enhance agilon’s reputation and advance the company’s strategy and thought leadership in all written materials.
- Monitor and become subject matter expert on industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to identify opportunities and challenges, supporting strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Lead measurement of the effectiveness of internal communication strategies and campaigns targeting employees and physician leadership, making data-driven adjustments as necessary.
- Support the Marketing & Communications team in other areas, as requested.
- Remote role that may require up to 15% travel (domestically), including overnight stays.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum Experience:
- 6+ years of relevant experience in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications Arts or Marketing.
- Experience with communications targeting physician audiences, preferably in a health system or large-scale physician group.
- Healthcare experience required and physician/health plan communications experience desired.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for various audiences.
- Ability to understand and communicate complex business, legal, regulatory, and technical issues clearly and accurately.
- Strong listening, creative thinking, influencing, and relationship-building skills with the ability to align communication initiatives with overall business objectives within a matrix organization.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Desire candidate to understand the industry in which the company operates, including its challenges, competitors and trends.
Education/Licensure:
- Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree in communications or relevant discipline desirable.
- Candidate may be required to travel up to 15% of the time, including overnight stays.

Pay Range:
$77,000.00 – $94,300.00
Salary range shown is a guideline. Individual compensation packages can vary based on factors unique to each candidate, such as skill set, experience, and qualifications.
