Position Summary

This position utilizes web-based and digital communications to share the vision and work of the Task Force in support of both programs and fundraising across the organization. Reporting to the Director of Communications, the position will be responsible for working closely with each department to develop and implement the Task Force’s web presence and provide support for digital visibility and campaigns via email, digital organizing (phone, SMS, virtual events), social media, text, and other platforms. This position will work collaboratively with teams across the organization and is a part of the Task Force Collective Bargaining Unit (CBU).

Position Responsibilities

Strategy and Planning

  • Develop and execute multi-channel digital communications campaigns, including both short and long-term advocacy and fundraising campaigns.
  • Develop strategy for diversified digital visibility and fundraising channels, methods, and payment systems to ensure long-term growth of digital fundraising.
  • Develop and execute strategy for all Task Force and Task Force Action Fund websites’ content development, integration, maintenance, and analytics.
  • In partnership with the Communications and Development teams, develop a comprehensive plan for email list and social media audience building with the objective of raising funds, growing audiences, and increasing engagement.
  • Manage digital communications calendar/schedule across platforms (email, social, SMS, etc.).
  • In partnership with the Communications, Marketing, and Branding (CMB) Director, work with Development, CMB, and Advocacy and Action departments to ensure coherence across external communications related to digital media and marketing.
  • Coordinate with the CMB team on digital marketing initiatives, including SEO, Google Ads, Luminate, website design, etc.
  • Work with Task Force Field Director and Action Fund Campaign Director to implement outreach tool integration across digital platforms.
  • Advise teams on best practices in digital marketing to guide investments in organization-wide platforms and tools in coordination with the CMB Director and Communications Manager.

Webmaster Responsibilities

  • Test websites across browsers, operating systems, and devices.
  • Monitor online traffic and conversions.
  • Ensure functionality, efficiency, and security of all sites and web servers.
  • Maintain, configure, and troubleshoot servers.
  • Maintain industry standards for digital security protocols and practices.
  • Ensure site security by setting up firewalls and login pages.
  • Optimize loading speeds and capacity.
  • Debug pages and fix broken links or images.
  • Update website content and review SEO.
  • Address user complaints.
  • Familiarity with technical hosting software and plugins.
  • Experience in Google Search Console and Google Analytics.
  • Knowledge in HTML and CSS coding.
  • Manage and maintain shared secure assets that include all relevant passwords.
  • Manage and maintain all payment and processing systems for platforms and digital tools.

Content Management and Production

  • Collaborate with colleagues to create and/or edit audience and platform-specific content to support Task Force campaigns on all digital channels, including email, social media, paid advertising, and text/messaging to support engagement goals.
  • Provide technical support for other online communications, including writing and graphic design.
  • Support donor cultivation and stewardship through digital fundraising tools and implement strategies to foster higher-level giving.
  • Coordinate with the Membership Giving Manager, Chief Development Officer, and CMB Director on strategies to establish a multi-channel approach to donor communications.
  • Optimize digital tools for audience and donor engagement, conversion, advocacy activity, and campaigns.
  • In collaboration across departments, develop both long-term and rapid-response advocacy system and digital communications content to support the Task Force mission and work.
  • Coordinate web updates, changes, and additions as appropriate.

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor web traffic and analytics, including metrics for growth, and provide recommendations on how to improve effectiveness.
  • Support CMB team in reporting on content, audiences, and analytics for all platforms.
  • Act as a liaison with IT consultants as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in web content management, creation, and support.
  • Experience with WordPress for websites, social media platforms, and text platforms; Luminate by Blackbaud email software experience is preferred.
  • Excellent writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Digital graphic design, photography, and video editing skills are preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and planning skills.
  • Ability to integrate feedback from multiple stakeholders into the final product.
  • Ability to work well with diverse teams of colleagues.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment under multiple and competing deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Results-oriented team player dedicated to getting the job done.

  • Experience in LGBTQ or related social justice movements is a plus.

  • Experience working in a multi-cultural and multi-racial environment where diversity and inclusion are institutional values.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-departmentally to implement activities.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Google Drive, Asana, and SharePoint strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, and provide recommendations based on analytics.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish and/or American Sign Language (ASL) is a plus.

Compensation

Salary is commensurate with experience. The Task Force values self-care and community care and offers excellent benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, FSA, annual and sick leave, and a 403(b) plan. We also offer short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, technology stipend, health and wellness benefits, and more. This position is not part of our collective bargaining unit.
